“He kept coming back to how his dad would have just been happy 
to sit with the kids,” said Sean Oliver, recalling how those stories 
centred students in the work.
This aligns with Strategic Action 3.2: Student Voice and Agency, 
reinforcing LRSD’s commitment to ensuring that students remain 
at the heart of decision-making and learning.
Throughout the year, the collaboration with Sinclair was 
understood not as bringing in an external voice, but as 
strengthening existing relationships. Staff emphasized that the 
work reflects a broader commitment to community connection 
and shared learning.
“Community and relationships is what it all comes down to,” 
Oliver said.
As LRSD continues to advance the priorities outlined in its 
Multi-Year Strategic Plan, the partnership offers a model for how 
learning can be shaped through reciprocity, humility, and respect.
By grounding its work in these principles, the division is building 
a foundation for ongoing growth while addressing present needs. 
Through this work, what is shared, supported and nurtured today 
continues to return, strengthening learning for students and 
communities alike.
