MESSAGE FROM 
THE CHAIR
In the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD), we refuse to be content with the status quo. 
The powerful, collective voices of our students, staff, and community drive us. 
We constantly look for opportunities to move forward, to be better, and to ensure public 
education stays relevant to our students and the world they will live in. LRSD students and 
staff are fierce advocates for social justice, equity, and their own health and wellness.
At the same time, they uphold the highest standards of academic success.
An exceptional divisional leadership team 
nurtures this relentless pursuit of excellence. 
We recognize and celebrate the immense care, 
kindness, and selflessness of everyone who leads 
in LRSD. Our Senior Leadership Team works 
tirelessly to support the well-being and safety of 
our schools and buildings. This support provides 
a solid foundation for student and staff success.
This year, that legacy of dedication is well 
personified. We extend our deepest gratitude 
to our retiring Superintendent & CEO, Christian 
Michalik. Christian’s 37 years of service to public 
education and his compassionate, visionary 
leadership have left an indelible mark on LRSD. 
He ensured we never stop taking bold steps.
We welcome Jackie Connell as our new 
Superintendent & CEO. Jackie is a trailblazer, 
a collaborator, and a learner. She has a 
reputation for being highly professional and 
dedicated to ensuring all programs, students, 
and staff thrive.
Guiding this vision is a school board that governs 
for success. We remain steadfast in our commitment 
to safe, equitable, and welcoming environments. 
None of this is possible without our deeply engaged 
community. Your partnership and active involvement 
ensure that we are not just a growing division but a 
flourishing one, always moving forward. Our Annual 
Report to Community is both a reflection of, and a 
testament, to what we have accomplished together.
